MPs seek questioning of central bank chief and finance minister
Parliamentarians are gathering signatures after the new exchange-rate structure unsettled markets.
Iraqi lawmakers are collecting signatures to summon the Central Bank governor and finance minister over the newly introduced dollar rate, Kurdistan24 reported from Baghdad.
Under the structure effective October 7, the Finance Ministry purchases dollars at 1,500 dinars, banks receive them at 1,510, and end beneficiaries pay 1,520. The parliamentary push reflects public concern about import costs, inflation and household purchasing power.
