Al Talaba host Al Shorta as Al Zawraa visit Duhok and Erbil travel to Naft Maysan in round nine.
Three round-nine matches are set to shape the early Iraq Stars League table on Thursday. The headline fixture is the Baghdad derby between Al Talaba and Al Shorta at Al-Madina Stadium, while second-placed Al Zawraa travel to Duhok and third-placed Erbil face Naft Maysan away.
Al Zawraa start the day on 18 points, two behind leaders Al Karma, giving them a chance to take provisional top spot. Al Shorta, on 15 points, are also seeking a result that would bring them closer to the leading group after the competition resumed following the Iraqi national team’s Gulf Cup commitments.
