Iraq Says It Seized 90 Kilograms of Narcotics at Sea
Authorities say a maritime operation led to three arrests after an intelligence tip from a neighboring country.
Iraqi authorities said they seized 90 kilograms of narcotics in the country’s territorial waters after receiving an intelligence lead from an unnamed neighboring country. The operation involved the navy and military intelligence, according to the Interior Ministry’s anti-drug directorate.
Officials said three foreign suspects were arrested after their boat was tracked and intercepted, while a fourth suspect remained at large. The seizure highlights Iraq’s continuing campaign against cross-border drug trafficking routes.
