Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi ordered economic measures worth at least 3.5 trillion dinars, or about $2.67 billion. The package includes redirected central-bank initiatives for housing and additional liquidity for the Trade Bank of Iraq and Industrial Bank to finance industry.
The government also earmarked funds for contractor and farmer dues and increased the Future Generations Fund initiative. The package is designed to support activity and employment while state finances remain under pressure.
