Baghdad Approves $2.7 Billion Economic Financing Push
A 3.5 trillion-dinar package targets housing, industry, agriculture, contractors and farmers as Iraq seeks to sustain domestic activity.
Iraq approved financing measures worth 3.5 trillion dinars, or about $2.7 billion, to support projects and productive sectors. The package directs funds toward real estate, industry and agriculture while also providing for outstanding payments to contractors and farmers.
The measures include added liquidity for the Trade Bank of Iraq and Industrial Bank, alongside housing finance through existing central-bank initiatives. The package is intended to support private-sector activity and jobs during a period of weaker oil-export revenue.
