Trade Ministry Faces Parliamentary Questions on Food and Imports
A parliamentary committee reviewed food-basket policy, import licensing, trade agreements and anti-corruption controls with the trade minister.
The Regions and Planning Committee questioned the Trade Ministry on implementation of the government programme, including food-basket quality and prices, licensing, automation and support for domestic production. Lawmakers also sought clarification on the proposed Food and Drug Authority.
The discussion covered import and export policy, bilateral trade agreements, state-company revenues and outstanding farmer payments. MPs pressed for more precise performance data and stronger safeguards for public funds.
