Parliament Examines Delivery of Infrastructure Projects
The Services and Reconstruction Committee reviewed project selection, delays and service works in Baghdad and several governorates.
Parliament’s Services and Reconstruction Committee hosted the Government Service and Engineering Task Force to review its development portfolio. Lawmakers asked about project-selection criteria, direct contracting and causes of delayed work.
The task force outlined roads, water, sewerage, school and other infrastructure projects in Baghdad and governorates including Maysan, Babil, Salahaddin, Dhi Qar and Najaf. The committee said it would continue monitoring delivery and remedies for stalled projects.
