Lawmakers Continue Work on Renewable Energy Regulation
Parliament’s energy committee brought together government specialists to refine a draft law intended to diversify Iraq’s energy mix.
The Electricity and Energy Committee continued consultations on the Renewable Energy Regulation Draft Law with officials from the oil, environment, electricity and planning ministries. The session examined technical comments and proposed changes to the bill.
Committee members said the legislation is intended to support energy diversification and increase reliance on renewables. Further consultations are planned before the draft proceeds through the remaining legislative steps.
