Erbil planned discussions with the federal Finance Ministry on the region’s 2027 entitlements and salary funding.

KRG Delegation Heads to Baghdad for Budget Talks

A senior Kurdistan Regional Government delegation was scheduled to travel to Baghdad to discuss the region’s financial entitlements in the 2027 federal budget. The talks were also expected to address the financing process for public-sector salaries in the Kurdistan Region.

The visit continues technical negotiations over the budget, regional revenues and Erbil’s obligations. The delegation’s work comes as the federal government prepares the draft for cabinet review before submission to parliament.
