Iraqi Parliament Passes Notaries Reform, Advances Four Bills
The legislature approved a modernisation amendment for notary offices and moved forward on juvenile justice, markets, navigation and solar cooperation legislation.
Iraq’s Council of Representatives approved an amendment to the Notaries Public Law aimed at introducing electronic processing and addressing operational problems in notary directorates. The vote took place during the chamber’s 24th session.
Lawmakers also advanced draft legislation on juvenile welfare, securities and commodities markets, and Iraq’s accession to an international marine-navigation body. The chamber additionally discussed joining the International Solar Alliance framework.
