Foreign Minister Outlines Iraq’s Security Agenda in Washington

Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein said Iraq had prepared a draft plan to place weapons under state control, during a September 30 discussion at the Atlantic Council in Washington. He said the plan was expected to be presented in the coming days with specific implementation timelines.

The talks also covered counter-ISIS cooperation, border security, developments in Syria and the effect of Iran-related sanctions on Iraq. Hussein highlighted opportunities to expand economic ties and attract US investment.
